The frogs love all that rain, but it was a bit more than expected. You had double the amount of us, we had 85 mm.

A couple of Barred Frogs from Main Range National Park last night. The first of the endangered Fleay's Barred Frog (Mixophyes fleayi), which was the reason for the trip. This is a new native Queensland frog species for me (#26)

Frog season is coming to an end here in South East Queensland, but we had almost 100mm rain this week which got the frogs out again. Here are a few images...

August typically has dry, cool westerly winds in Brisbane, which is not good weather for frogs. But after 57mm rain earlier this week, I went for a frog hunt last night, and surprisingly I found a few! Here is a selection.

Our resident Green Tree Frog (Litoria caerlea) has re-appeared in our garden after the winter brumination (the amphibian equivalent of hibernation). It's good to see her again!
