Your artsy fartsy take on a weekly theme - #1 TREES

I set up this weekly challenge with a wink; it's primarily intended as an outlet for everyone to fully let loose in their artistic experience, but ultimately, of course, also to further develop one's own possibilities as a photographer by discovering new photographic techniques or photo editing methods. Essentially, the task for everyone in this weekly challenge is to leave all standard images at home and to showcase exclusively creative edits, in whatever form.
To ensure some regularity and guidance in this challenge, there's a weekly theme.
The challenge starts every Friday with a new theme.

The rules:
- maximum of 3 photos in each challenge
- black & white and color allowed
- all conceivable edits and combinations allowed, as long as the theme is taken as the starting point
- weekly challenge runs from Friday (afternoon) until the following Friday morning
- a brief explanation of the technique, editing software, plugins, etc. is welcomed
- maximum image size according to forum rules

This challenge is purely for fun, with no competition and no prizes.
Any digital or analog photographer can participate in this weekly challenge. Feel free to dive into the world of creative photo editing and forget all geopolitical issues for a moment!
I hope many members are interested in participating and in doing so make this new challenge a success!

Cheers, Gerard

Let me start this first Challenge - # TREES

(a positive and negative layer have been combined here; a green colored layer has been added to the positive layer and all gray tones have been removed - to achieve a purely graphic effect)

(it looks like an ICM image, but it is the same image slightly shifted where the 'saturation' has been influenced for the effect, then provided with a color layer, and subsequently a positive and negative image were combined in such a way that a dark sky was created)

(2 different images - Meike 6.5mm full circular fisheye lens - converted to black and white, provided with extra grain, then combined and mounted in a black circular frame)

My old friend Dr Dave Stahle PhD Dendrochronologist came down to my cabin to take core samples from some of my ancient tree friends. Besides being his guide, I did assist him by recording the GPS and diameter for his records.
Any time I’m out wading around in the swamps, there is always a good chance of some hydrocarbons bubbling up, creating that thin film refraction, which always gets my attention.

While I was looking down, working it, it slowly drifted over to where I could include his reflection with it.
