Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Vintage. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

The word vintage literally means "of age." With such an open meaning, there are many interpretations. Let's see what we think is Vintage

Here are the rules:

  • Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives.
  • Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you).
  • Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
  • Post your shots at any time during the week.
  • Please abide by the Focus on Photography posting rules
That’s it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

An Index to Previous weeks can be found here : WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK

That's it!

Have fun!

Guess I'll kick things off. This is a Dodge Power Wagon. Dodge made a ton of these 4WD one ton work horses during WWII, then continued production for civilian use right up until 1968(?). This one is post 1950. Note the signal lights. Also note the windshield wipers were an option, not purchased on this one.

I wonder if it had heated leather seats. :run:

Taking a 180 degree turn on the term vintage. To a devout oenophile (synonym: wino, lush, drunk) the term vintage means not necessarily old, but denotes the year of grape harvesting for making wine. Ynette (wife of Yno) and I were enjoying a tipple in a local Champagne Bar, and I had a sudden inspiration of something that would be a good subject for this week's theme.

Disclaimer: while Ynette loves her bubbly, I really only like red wine, and was enjoying a fine Argentinian Malbec.

Well, I had a think about Vintage and what the definition of it was for objects and I discovered, thanks to Auntie Google, that the definition varies a lot! I am not mobile at all this week and, sadly, I discovered that, even at my age, I am not classified as vintage - so no selfie for you lot! I did, however, decide to take a couple of pictures from my old camera collection that, in fact, possibly go a bit beyond vintage and are in an older timeframe. No matter. General terms: vintage = old.

Kodak Vest Pocket B - manufactured between 1925 and 1934.

Not mobile this week, does that mean not well? If it does I am so sorry to hear
it and hope you are mobile soon. Lovely cameras.

Thanks Kevin. Sometimes I go through times when I am quite unwell and then it gets better for a while more. Probably a sign of age and misspent youth ;) Thanks for asking.

dang - a nice vintage shot taken today but too late for this weeks' challenge! oh well., I'll find a home for it elsewhere...
