WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK: Part 1012 - It's Spring, Show Us

Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is It's Spring, Show Us. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.


I know that it might be hard to believe, but this week, we turn to Spring. Look around you, your yard, or your neighbor's yard. Maybe a local park.. Let's see some Spring



Here are the rules:

• Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives.
• Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you).
• Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
• Post your shots at any time during the week.
• Please abide by the Focus on Photography posting rules.
• Please keep your contributions to a maximum of 4 images or less.
  

As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

funnily enough, out our way there doesn't seem to be anything like the fantastic Autumn colours seen overseas - it's either green, green, green - or brown...

One of the big signs of spring where I live is Chaharshanbe Suri festival.
It is part of the Nowruz festivities to celebrate the Persian New Year
which falls on the spring equinox. There is a very large Persian population here.

The highlight of the festival is the jumping of the fires to transfer sickness and
bad luck to the fire in exchange for warmth, energy, and purity.
