This house martin is feeding its young, which are inside a broken flowerpot!

Its nest was in the top corner of a window frame. The owner of the house opened the window a bit too wide and knocked the nest off. It landed on the window sill. She was beside herself to find there were 3 young chicks inside it. They were shaken, but otherwise intact. Her husband got the broken flowerpot and scooped the remains of the nest into it, then placed the chicks inside it. Then he gaffer-taped it back where it had come from. And the parents carried on feeding the young as if nothing had happened!

The only downside is that some of the sticky side of the tape was left exposed, and it has been plucking feathers out the parents! Hopefully it is by now saturated.
