Who's to restart "Family Journalism Photos"?

The POTN thread "Post your family journalism photos!" was begun in 2015 by JakAHearts (Shane) and ran to 164 pages. The thread included much fine work, and a new one continuing the topic would be a welcome addition to People. Many members contributed, such as Everyday Getaway, Lee Ratters, idsurfer, Annie MacD, flowrider, Nenad Ristic, Lubos-PM, Britania757, MalVeauX, umgrizz, and Cyberex--just a small sample. At least some of those people have registered at Focus.

JakAHearts, as the original thread starter, has priority for starting a corresponding thread at Focus. However, his last activity was eight months ago; he hasn't replied to a PM and may not be heard from before POTN closes. Would someone who was active in the thread volunteer to restart it here? It needn't be a person on the list above, just a member who was familiar with the thread and, ideally, posted multiple times in it.

OhLook, there is no law that says that every thread on POTN needs to be restarted on Focus. People will start the threads they need. Since nobody started a Family Journalism Photos thread here, it seems there is no need of it at this point. If you need such a thread, you are welcome to start it yourself of course.

The quality of posts in that thread would be such an asset to Focus that losing it would be a shame. It raises the average. Since I couldn't reach the TS, posting is a substitute for inviting him. Major contributors to a thread can restart it when the TS doesn't. I don't have photos for this category. What do you recommend? Should the thread not be revived until a qualified member takes the initiative to do it? That might happen when POTN archives are offline and can't be consulted.

EDIT: An alternative occurred to me. Forum Talk may be a better place for inquiries like this, along with other posts about things that people would like to see restored. Then the thread wouldn't be a placeholder.

I understand that and it would be a shame to lose it, but we can't force people to start threads. And as to a "qualified member" taking the initiative to start the thread, who am I, or anyone for that matter, to say who is qualified or not? If someone wants to start it, let them do so.

I agree that discussions such as these belong in Forum Talk. I will move this thread there.

Well, we tried to honour the original thread starter from popular threads over at POTN, if they are still active there. So that is where this comes from. But we've opened the door 2 weeks ago and as far as I'm concerned people can start the threads they want to start.

To me, this form of honoring members who enriched the forum still seems a courteous thing to do. It's unknown how many at POTN still have no idea Focus exists and haven't made notes of what they'd want to show again. Thanks for moving the post!

Success! A contributor to the POTN thread did the job. Tonight, Family Photojournalism is safely tucked in at People.
