I have one item on my list - an RF 100-500. I need this lens for days when I don’t feel like lugging around my 600/4, and for days when I am on my bicycle and carrying the 600/4 isn’t practical.

Hope that Canon will have a refurb store sale and I can snag one for a low price.

What’s on your list? I’ll post Black Friday deals on the Marketplace forum as they become available.

Great lens, I love it. Looking to add the 200-800 too tho.

The 200-800 seems like a great lens as well. I thought some reviewers were finding some softness with some of the early copies (I could be confusing it with a different lens). Hopefully, that has been sorted out. The focal length range is fantastic, especially for birds.

RF 24-240 for travelling light (no other lenses, maybe the EF 50 f1.8)
I have never purchased one of these wide range all-purpose zooms but as I get older as well and the prospect of lugging around half a dozen lenses all day when on foot around the city becomes increasingly unappealing, I might consider one of these as well. What a great and practical range for just about anything!

Do you guys have "Black Friday" in Blighty? I think it is an American thing, coming the day after Thanksgiving, but like many other American ideas, these things seem to spread all over the world, for better or for worse.
Yeah, we have it here. We've adopted many Americanisms, like the recent 'trick or treat' stuff. Not yet having turkey for Thanksgiving tho, purely for Xmas.😉-

I went off two and a half weeks to NZ/AUS with just the EF 24-70 f2.8 II. There were times I wished for a longer zoom. Back in 2011 I'd bought the 60D with the EFS 18-200. It proved to be asharp lens with a bit of CA... Unfortunately it turns the R6DII into a 9 Mp camera....:confused:

I always have FOMO on these kinds of trips. I'm always thinking, who knows when I'll be back to this part of the world, better make sure every FL is covered, and pretty soon, I'm carrying a suitcase full of lenses. :(

Been there, done that! ;whistle;

Unfortunately, in NZ and Oz, they can be sticklers for carry on weight (with lenses and laptop, it can get out of hand). Plus I have to carry medications and medical equipment, I can't check in...

Treated myself to DXO photolab 8 , was on version 5 , tried out the new version then got it when it was on Black Friday
It’s a really good Raw converter , I’ve been going back through old Raws from 12 or so years ago and reprocessing them again so pleased with the results

On Black Friday, got myself a laptop for photo editing: Lenovo LOQ 15.6" Gaming Laptop at $300 discount. I then added an additional 1tb ssd and replaced its 16gb memory (2x8gb) with 32gb, also on BF sale. Handles all my photo editing softwares nicely.

What graphics card did you put on it?

It came installed with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB and Ryzen 7 7435HS with IPS screen. Not bad for $699. It easily handles my PS, LR, Topaz Denoise AI. The only thing that's a bit slow going is when I convert files out of my R5 to DNG using Adobe DNG Converter. Still not too bad a speed.
