mine are on a Cypress limb, licking up maple syrup.

About one day a year here, we get what we call 'flying ant day'. The ones with wings all seem to take to the air and the place is moving with them. Then, next day there are none...

Yeah, those big black ones. They are in India as well. They can draw blood with their pincers.

I often see ants on flowers. I've observed an interesting behavior on tansy flowers: They make a hole in the center of the flower and then crawl in. To drink the nectar, I presume?

I have to admit when I saw your avatar I thought... "I must be dreaming!" then I rethought that. And at that point I thought I was seeing double! I have consulted my optician and "no that's not it!"
