This. This is my second attempt with pastels at anything other than a hand. It's not great. I'm not even sure it's good, but it's only my second attempt. The potential excites me. And photography is still very much a part of my art. For the time being, it's being used for reference photos and official photos of the drawings, but my work with ccgs will continue as the inspiration hits me.
I picked up a camera 22 years ago to fill a void from my inability to draw or paint. Six months ago I tried again and had a breakthrough. That breakthrough has led to more successes. It seems that as I continue to learn how to draw it will consume more of my time. I don't imagine photography will be squeezed out completely and I expect it will always be a part of my art. But for the moment, drawing has me inspired.
