What thread am I on?

Is there an easy way to tell what thread you are on without scrolling up to the top of the page? Perhaps have the Forum/thread information at the top in the menu bar? Perhaps it is there and I am just missing it.

The URL bar on the browser helps, but is cumbersome. I often log in and open a new tab for all the notifications, then navigate the tabs. Often, I'll land in the middle of a thread, and it is not obvious which one it is. So I'll scroll up to figure out where I landed before responding to a post to get the proper context.

Another little quirk I noticed is that I'll get the same thread opened in multiple tabs, but the "like" status isn't updated from tab to tab. So, I'll encounter the same image that I already liked, but the status hasn't been updated on this tab, i.e., it has stale "like" data. I'll click "like" and it will have the effect of toggling the "like" off, instead of on. Only liking the first time doesn't really solve the problem, because sometimes it is the same image in two threads (or just similar images). I can fix this by refreshing the tab each time I move to a new tab.

Quirks with the "like" status aside, it is helpful to have the information on which thread you are on easily visible.

Is it there already, and I am just missing it? Is it a preference I can set?

I think what you are looking for is for the thread name to get pinned on top so that it does not scroll while the rest of the page does. Kinda like pinning the header row on a spreadsheet. We can look into whether there is a global setting for that in the forum software.

PS: Some things we are figuring out too as we go along. While I think we got most things set up right before we got the forum going, there are always tweaks and little things that we are ourselves learning about and improving, so feedback like this is really important. Thank you!

When following alerts I am often mystified about the thread or even the forum I am in.
I know the alert shows this but it would be helpful if it showed at the top or bottom of the display no matter where I am scrolled to in the page.

I miss the bottom-of-page placement for breadcrumbs for subforum and thread title, apart from anything about alerts.

Yes this is my point realy, just noting the use case I find this most discombobulating with.

I'm on the lookout for an add-on that would make the thread title stick and stay with you as you scroll down the page. I haven't found one yet.
