Weddings Wedding Photography - How to achieve amazing images

Great lighting, Colman. It makes me lament to an even greater degree the fact that the discussion on lighting techniques and equipment has plummeted in volume in photography forums.
Lighting is half of photography! Now most of the time, folks merely capture what is already there.
Folks used to want to learn about lighting, now so many cannot be bothered. o_O

I witnessed this in the wedding photography industry. Most newcomers to the trade simply wanted to slap a speed light on their camera (if they use any light at all) and start shooting. Many of them promoted themselves as "natural light photographers" and, unfortunately, many brides fell victim to this when their reception photos turned out dark, blurry and the wrong colors.

B/W at dusk. Did I mention that dusk/sunset is my favorite time to shoot? This shot was created with one light, placed behind the couple and aimed up at the top of cupola. The house was lit by the streetlights. Streetlights put out an ugly green or yellow light so I simply did a B/W conversion in lightroom for this shot. View attachment 11511
