This bird came to my yard hummingbird garden in early December. It is only the first or second sighting in Texas. I hear there was a sighting in West Texas, which would be more plausible. This is a link to the range map. My last sighting was the morning of Jan. 31. It would show up off and on through the month. Ebird listing

I hear they can be known to return annually-you never know!
James, thank you for looking and commenting. I have read that about hummingbirds as well. That would be great and I'm hoping the Rufous I posted about last spring show this year. Take care.
 
Looks like you have a lovely garden for hummingbirds, Bill! I’m sure that helps you get those great hummer shots you post. 👍🏾
It has been a labor of love and is well established now. I'm not sure how many different species of plants I have at this point but it is a wide variety. Some have frozen back over the past week but I also covered a few to keep them ready. They all come back from the root system.

Wow, that looks amazing. I think you and @RobAmy have the best gardens I have seen in general and for birds in particular.
