Hi Folks,
I am starting a thread for photography enthusiasts to share their love for all things horological. I share on my social media images of watches shown to me by collectors, brands and authorised dealers. I am not commercially associated with any of them and am just merging two different hobbies together. Watches and Photography. I have been photographing and publishing images of watches for decades and you can see most of them on my socials.

Just starting with a couple of movement shots of the Oscillon. A single watch model brand from Scandinavia with acclaimed level of finishing found only at the very top level brands. E5E51F11-1994-4D9D-B2E3-E57F6426B0B4.jpeg294F0BB3-DE0F-4194-9EB8-78C345838524.jpeg

This pair of watches photographed last month features the wandering hour movement made famous by URWERK. This brand called VAYTH hails from Indonesia!

Photographed using constant white LED light box on site with EOSR7 and RF35mm f1.8 macro. Amazing combination for fast easy macro and on site shooting.
Note that those learning this genre, the fist thing to learn is how to deal with reflections and blown out highlights. This is learnt through a long process of experimentation using flags and devices. This is why constant light works easier than using flash.

Using a small white light box and LED lights. This is the OPHION bespoke watch from Spain. The movement shot is focus stacked to show all the great details of the symmetric bridges of the watch.

The movement of a LUC cal 1.96 with micro rotor.
It’s a known secret amongst collectors that the high horology pieces from Chopard match the top movements from PP, AP and VC. This focus stacked image shows the quality of its finishing.

Omega just released this new White Dial Speedmaster commonly nicknamed the Daniel Craig Speedy. I was invited to photograph this new watch at the Omega Boutique. I used the R7 with the RF35mm f1.8 macro and photo stacked the movement shots.

Wow. Every little doohickey and thingamajig in there has a specific purpose. What a wonderful piece of machinery!
That was how it all started for me. The fascination for how these very small mechanical parts able to provide functional purpose but made in such way that the sum of the moving parts becomes a marvel for the eyes to enjoy.

Image from 2021 pre Covid days when this watch was first launched. I managed to purchase one and decided to do this image of the watch and the moon together. Both images by me. The speedmaster is a renowned Moon watch and whether it will be on the wrist on the astronauts returning to the moon in the near future, is still unknown.
