Unable to click any of the buttons at top of Post Thread dialog box

About 1/4 of the time when I attempt to create a post, the buttons at the top of the Post Comment dialog box are greyed out and unavailable for use. (Except the Preview button always works.)

Any ideas what I am doing to cause this? How can I correct?

It means you have toggled off the BBCode. You can toggle it back on by clicking on the little open square in the upper right corner of the text window. It’s hidden in the dotted hamburger menu.
