Trial poll

Just wanted to create a poll to see if that is supported yet, and to test it if it is...
I cannot find a way to do it, so I presume it is still in the works.

Hi Wilt,

We've never gotten to the polls yet but I just figured how to do it. I have enabled polls to be done in 'Member Activities' under the Community Talk category. I also enabled it in the Testing Grounds forum to test. It is quite simple, create a thread as normal, and there is a poll option tab next to the Discussion tab. Click on the 'Poll' tab and the rest is pretty easy to figure out. Please let us know if you need more help on this matter. Also a question to you, should we have the polls only in Member Activities or open it up to other forums?

Well, heck yes. Joseph, I'll bet you're just as wrapped up in this madness and tired too. Can't blame you. Orders from the top are that no vacations are authorized until this goes public, and even then, not until sometime in 2024 as we continue the build and ramp-up schedule. I think Musk had a phrase for that: "Production H***" or some such. I've been up past 5am every night for the last week playing around in here, trying my best to break the newborn and fragile forum to pieces, and then working full shifts in the busiest season of the year. I'm dog tired . I've been sleeping on the couch lately catching up on the few ZZZZ's I can get, in the Forum Lounge at FoP HQ. Have you seen it? It's beautiful, with views of the sea on all sides. The good thing is the constant sounds of waves hitting the pylons lull you to sleep almost immediately. If not, we should supply photos of it soon, but we're too frick'n busy ATM.

Nah. Like i said sknewhere lolls anywhere probaky should be OK. They really don’t get thst much use but there is a time and place where they can be useful.

in the past polls have served a valuable purpose...I created two successive polls on POTN to find out what RAW conversion software folks used. It enabled us to find out the latest products being utilized (second poll) that were non-existent in first poll, and it enabled folks reading the poll results to see which software were the most prevalent in use (vs. those with few users). For that reason it should not be limited to Member Activities.

but I could not find a way to create the entries to be selected...(sample selections)

I did get the warning that I needed to create a question and add selections for the poll...but I could not figure it out, so I abandoned that thread creation.
I intend to try again every few days.

Testing grounds is now gone, we are undergoing some clean up. Sorry for the inconvenience.. If you created a poll or thread for testing that needs to be deleted, feel free to report the thread to have it closed and someone will take care of it.

I created and voted (first voter in that thread) in "Member Activities" Community thread. I found a tabulation bug and posted about it there...I voted TWO selections, it counts THREE votes, and each one of three gets '50%'.
Changing vote seems to function properly.
