This concerns the notice that appears when you use the "New posts" tab.
  1. The contrast between this line of text and the gray band under it is very low, so that the text is barely legible. Contrast is so low that the gray band might as well be on top of the text. The text is very light, not boldface. On arriving at this forum, I didn't notice that the band said anything. As work on color schemes continues, this would be a good thing to look into.
  2. XenForo places the gray band just below threads that have been updated since your last visit, just as the notice says. That doesn't always mean you can't find anything new below the notice. If you didn't look into all the threads last time, you can miss posts you didn't see. XenForo doesn't track where in a thread each user was.

Which style are you talking about? I think the default style coloring is pretty good for making this distinction, as is “A Familiar Look” and “Shades of Grey.” The one that needs some work in this regard is “Classy.”

I was using Classy. I'n now trying A Familiar Look, and yes, the line is easier to read with this style.

OhLook, what did you not understand when I said that Classy was a work in progress? It's not finished yet. I have eyes and I see what needs to be worked on but there are only so many hours in a day and I haven't had time to go back to it. So live with it for now, or change to another style.

Noted.

I've understood that the current management has an interest in feedback from users, including effects of viewing on different screens, in variable lighting, and with pairs of eyes that may function differently than someone else's. Is that not so?

Yes, OhLook, you are right, that is so. But please understand that some things are more crucial than others. The default style functions perfectly so you could use that. I know the text in that banner you speak of is difficult to see in Classy but as it happens it’s rather complicated to find the “switch“ (it’s not a switch at all) that changes only that. Remember you said that the staff banner was so dark? I changed that for you. But it also made the banner you now complain about lighter and the text in it less eligible. I don know where the “switch” for only that banner or only that text is right now and I don’t have time to look for it. So it must wait. As it so happens the style properties are among the most difficult to get a grip on. So try to be patient. I will work on it as soon as I have time. Okay?

Certainly. Let me be clear: I didn't mean to pressure you. Beta testing covers a wide range of things, from trivial to urgent. I expect that you'll infer the importance of each issue from what's said. I don't need to attach priority labels to distinguish "Oh, by the way, I liked last week's shade of turquoise just a tad better than this one" from "Levina! Get back to work! THE SKY IS FALLING!"
