The Canon 7DmkII Discussion & Photos Thread ~

I have an R5 but still have and use my 80D. An APS-C camera is just great for macro and telephoto work.

If I lost my 7D2 today its likely I'd pick up an 80D. But the R7mkII is likely going to be something pleasant...

I have both my 90D and 7Dii in addition to my R7. I keep thinking of selling the 7Dii and keeping the 90D but I like them both.

If the R7 mk ii comes out I would probably sell my R7, the question is since I also have a 6Dii and 5D classic, do I really need the 90D and 7Dii? If I get a R7ii I would probably sell either the 7D or the 90D. Right now I use the 7Dii mostly for shooting birds out my den window where for the most part they are 15 feet away and if in the bushes 25 feet so the smaller sensor isn't that much a problem.

As a quick note to my background. I started my adventure with the Canon 7D mkII in 2015 and since then it has been my go to Camera, apart from a brief flirtation with an R7 and some disapointment with reviews of that Camera I've stood firm. 😀

Looks like a mighty fine pairing Sam. An L prime and 1.4x seems to have worked great on the 7D2.
I returned my 1.4x after a couple days using it with my 100-400L IS II, AF wasn't as quick as I wanted - and the 7D2 is all about quick acquisition... I figured I could crop and get about the same IQ as with the 1.4x, but I don't know. I wish there was a definitive scientist out there who could tell us if extenders are worth it or if cropping is a hair better or not... all variables accounted for.
