The Analog Guy is here

Welcome to Focus, glad you came on over. I think you'll find Focus a very comfortable place.

Your thread title made me laugh: he sure is! It's great that you decided to join us at our new home. Welcome to Focus on Photography.
Well, I started way back in 1963 with my mother’s Leica film based camera. She did not like that and gave me a Kodak Brownie camera in 1964. I had that camera until 1970 when I was at sea and bought me a Voigtländer in Hamburg. That one I still have, but I bought a SLR Chinon in 1975, and then an Olympus OM-1 the next year. And the rest is history. I got my first digital camera in the year 2000 from my employer. It did not last very long, but the next one was a Nikon D40. I decided then to go for Nikon, but then Canon came with an offer on the 5D MkII with the 24-105 lens, so then I was sold. I’ve been a Canon user since then!

That's quite the journey, camera brands wise. I had a Ricoh analog camera for the occasional event and for vacation. But when I decided to buy a digital camera in 2008, it was a Canon and I always stayed with them. Now shooting with an R6II and very happy with it.
