Dear FoP members,

Earlier today, we posted the forum financials for April 2024. It can be found here. The good news is that we have enough funding to operate the forum in 2024 and 2025. We will worry about 2026 next year!

We would like to thank all the people who donated so generously to keep FoP going. But just as importantly, we would like to thank everyone who contribute to the forum by posting images, engaging in conversations, and sharing their wealth of knowledge so generously.

As always, please spread the word about our forum to people you know so that they may become members too. FoP will stay healthy and vibrant as long as we have active and energetic participation from the community.

Thank you again!

I'm just glad that I was able to contribute.
Too many other forae keep the donation link alive with no mention of
how contributions fund it, so I'm personally glad to see the financial breakdown,
and even more gladdened to see the venue for donations has been halted
because the forum already has enough funds for a year or so.

This seems to be a well-done approach, and I applaud the creators in this method.

It was one of my and other people's frustrations on POTN that there was never any information about finances. Not how much was needed, not how much was coming in. It's the main reason I never donated there. I wanted to, but I want to know what exactly I am giving to. After building the site and talking about finances and donations, we all agreed that we wanted total transparency on FoP and I'm real happy that it is appreciated. Thank you very much, Craig. ;love;

You're very welcome, Levina.

I ask only this: You or other creators announce, very conspicuously, when donations are again needed.

This is the best run and most welcoming forum I have ever participated in, going back to the early days of POTN, DPR, Photozone.de, Photo.net and others. While I don't post much here since the emphasis is Canon and I no longer shoot that brand, and am on OM Systems MFT, it is still wonderful to see the positive involvement of the founders, moderators and members. Your transparency is second to none and know that all your hard work is much appreciated.
Thank you and keep up the good work!

Rich, that made my day! So kind of you to say, and I am glad you like what we have created here.

On another note, we would love to make the forum less Canon-centric. We have created sections for other brands and while there is a fairly active Sony presence, I admit we are less active on the Nikon and Micro 4/3 fronts. So please do continue participating. Even if you feel that there is less engagement on the Micro 4/3 gear section, the photo sharing section of the site is gear-agnostic and we would love to see contributions from all camera brands.

Actually, that is one of the things about this forum that is most impressive; how responsive you all are. In this case, you responded to my queries almost immediately. in another case, you created the MFT forum at my suggestion, again, almost right away! I will definitely keep participating where I can.
