Can we talk about the mundane daily things, that we do in our lives? ☺️

I will join in on this.

Since retiring from pounding the roads or Europe in my truck, I have concentrated on my main hobby which is WWII aviation from a research point. Photography is a more recent hobby in regard to the 10 years that I have had fairly half decent cameras.

A daily walk of at least five miles is essential for my health having had a triple bypass after a serious heart attack 15 years ago, but with winter setting in and nothing but rain lately, curbs that enjoyment.
Apart from that, being a house husband as my slightly younger wife still has to work for another year, keeps me busy. I now have become very domesticated and do all of the shopping, cleaning and housework, house maintenance, gardenening (which to be fair is only small...as is the house itself) and all of the cooking too, but draw the line at laundry and ironing!

So all the mundane things in life join up to be almost full time occupation !

WOW, that sounds just like me. I have just come back from hospital this morning, had a heart scan. I too do all the chores around the house, missus too poorly at the moment, she is also disabled. But I can manage to tinker with my cameras, now and again.

Thanks for sharing, very interesting reading. :)(y)

The mundane...On this past weekend, we went with longtime friends to a performance by the Fab Four, a tribute band who perform the repertoire of the Beatles.
We all remarked about how very similar the instrumental arrangements were, compared to what had been burned into our brains in listening to the original recordings for decades.
And the Fab Four members' appearance changed during the course of the show, to closely resemble the original Beatles at various stages in their career.

I can enthusiastically recommend attending a performance of the Fab Four to any afficianado of the Beatles!

Funny how you either fell in to one or two musical camps when young, I was a Rolling Stones fan from the early 1960's, watched them at the famous concert in Hyde Park in 1969 aged 15 and for one reason or another could never get into The Beatles at all. But, glad you enjoyed your musical weekend :)

Retired graphic designer as of 2019, (If it were up to me I'd still be working). These days, I feed my rabbits, and hang out with my chickens in the morning. Tend my garden and greenhouse veggies after that, and later, try new cooking techniques & recipes with my lovely wife. I pray a lot these days and try to help my friends, family and neighbors when I can. Occasionally I try to take interesting photos, and sometimes I share them.

It's rubbish day tomorrow, normally the eldest son's job to put out the bins but seeing as he has long covid, I often do it for him.
"Rubbish day"?
What's that mean?
Here, every day is rubbish day.

rubbish day = the day we put out our bins to be collected. every second week they do "recycling bin" that always confuses me - was it recycling last week? who knows...

I just put our used cat litter out in the garbage bin to be collected Monday (today) on Rubbish Day. A completely mundane task. I'm just trying to tie all these posts together somehow.

I'm obviously spoiled...
Today was "burnables", tomorrow is paper, cardboard, newspapers, milk cartons.
Wednesday is bottles (glass & plastic), and cans.
Thursday is the 2nd weekly "burnable" day.
Friday is plastics.
Dec 13th is metals and electronics.
27th broken glass/crockery.
And all the Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are like this week.

Honestly, I don't know how the west makes such a hassle over an easy thing to organise.
😝

I missed the wheelie bin collection this week. Did manage to catch the recycling though so all it not lost.
We have a garbage robot picking up our trash. One guy/girl in the truck, he/she parks near the bins and this arm comes out, picks up the can and dumps it. I talked to the guy and he said it was automatic, the arm finds the right can and grabs it.

Corrected that for you...

Yesterday I made 36 mince pies. Today I shall be buying more mincemeat and flour. And to make the day even more exciting, putting air into the two front tyres on the car and filling up with fuel for a triop to Bath Christmas Market on Monday/Tuesday (staying the night) next week.

Highlight of my day, looking for a high power electric leaf blower. I'm done with the gas ones, they constantly break. The battery ones don't have the power so I'm left dragging a cord. Yup, that's my day... Leaf blower.
