Great shot! Now that I have seen the snowy, the great gray has risen to #1 on my lifer target list. They are so hard to find out here and of course, their locations are not generally revealed by anyone.
Thanks! There are apparently 2 or 3 breeding pairs in the Sax-Zim Bog, and they frequently perch on snags along the roads. We drove around for over 2 hours before finding one, and then we sat watching it for about 45 minutes. I stopped taking pictures 3 or 4 timesGreat shot! We drove around for over 2 hours before finding one, and then we sat watching it for about 45 minutes. I stopped taking pictures 3 or 4 times. We were there a second morning trying for a Connecticut Warbler and came across two owls when we weren't even trying.
