We lost Sophie a couple days before Christmas and it took me a full two weeks before I could deal with entering "Sophie" into my photo database search box.

After our son's Red Heeler had a litter with a Golden Retriever, we were offered pick of the litter and adopted Sophie when she was just one week old. I was in my
50s and she was the first, and only, dog I've ever had.

She grew into a beautiful girl and my constant companion.

I have so many photos, many of them shared here and on POTN over the years. I'll just keep adding photos here periodically. Only the good ones. Right now it feels like I'll never run out.

One of our very first walkies with Sophie, we took her to a local lake. There was a fella there throwing sticks into the water for his Labrador. Sophie joined right in. That was the day we found out she was a water dog. This is Sophie after her very first swim.

 It's so unfair that their lives are so short..
It's hard now, but you've captured many memories that you will revisit, fondly time and again.
