Sony Lounge Thread GM-CR MK IV-A

bokeh's not as busy as I thought it would be. looks good !
Yeah usually these budget lenses decently sharp but don't render well. These TTartisan lenses render superbly. I also have the Viltrox 14mm and 50mm on hand. Both are really sharp. Rendering on the 50 is not as good as the TTaristans

Do you miss the size and weight? I sometimes miss the a7s3 and want it back lol

@David A what about you? do you miss the regular a7 bodies are super happy with the a7c ?
A little bit but having all the extra custom function buttons makes up for it, I don't know how I went without them now.

I know you didn’t ask me but I’ll pitch in 🤣. I went back to the a7rV from a7cR and don’t regret it. For me personally there were two main things I didn’t like on the smaller body. The EVF (resolution, physical size and magnification) and the way the screen flipped (having to have it out to the side). When comparing to what I previously had on the a7rV in relation to those two things it was a no brainer for me to go back. The size increase isn’t an issue as I have two smaller bodies I use when I want small or when out and about doing normal life but want a camera with me

Well articulated. I love my a7C II, but the tiny EVF and flip screen are definitely serious negatives.

I’ve always regarded the a7C II as a compromised body. I love it. But, I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t really love a nice new a75….if I could keep my a7C II too. :p

I'm in the camp of preferring the smaller form factor of the a7cr over the extra controls on the regular a7 bodies. Paired with a compact lens, and its just a fun set-up.

This set-up pretty much killed really bad ideas of getting an RX1rIII or Leica Q lol

That’s a great pairing…I’d love that little lens on my a7C II for sure! The thing that’s always made me wish I could afford a Leica Q is I just love the way the photos look out of that camera…I’ve always been a complete total sucker for the Leica look.

If I can ever recover from my 6-months long mystery illness, I’m thinking about getting a Thypoc Simera 28mm 1.4. I love the way that little lens renders…looks very vintage Leica like for only 400 bucks.

Hope health is ok David!

I could live with a fixed AF 28mm Leica, but it's too much money for sure. I've looked into used versions of the first...more within reason but on paper still a bad value given what else is out there that perhaps isn't as sexy.

Random thought. Remember microfocus adjusting lenses? Was digging through old photos and found those old focus test charts I used to use to set MFA values.
Every single lens I owned needed this and I hated it, one of the reasons why I loved the move to Mirrorless. I used the Dot Tune method which worked fairly well.
