I have the GRIII and really enjoy using it. It's very sharp and love the built in ND filter. Bokeh is nice but only for up close shots. AF is good for static subjects but not really for moving subjects. To me, the most intriguing thing about GRIII is its pocketable size still packed with APSC sensor. If I feel X100VI is too big for certain outing or situation, I will always at least take the GRIII with me instead. MP is a little lackluster compared to X100VI or a7CR, but I can live with that. About the usability, I think your wife will still need to learn to navigate through the menu but once you set it, you don't really need to touch it much. Perhaps you can just fix the main settings for her and she can just fire away hah. Just my 2 cents. Thanks guys. Lee - hadn’t thought of the Ricoh, this might be a good excuse for me to finally try one
Adding: I'm not sure if your wife likes taking selfies, but out of the 7CR (with 24 1.4), X100VI, and GRIII, GRIII is clearly the easiest camera to take selfies. Here are a couple of selfies of myself and with my brother. I don't like taking big cameras for my golf roundings but can easily carry with me the GRIII.
And a couple of random shots.
