Sony Lounge Thread GM-CR MK IV-A

I am pretty sure I bought a 135L from you about 15yrs ago...I can't believe those are the same 2 kids I saw in the sample images you sent me. Wow, time flies!!!
Yep…That was me! Time does fly!

Congrats on the watch Joon.

Has anyone got or used the 24-50 f/2.8G lens? I go to Japan in 30 days and trying to plan the kit. My GM primes are the 24,35 and 50 1.4’s but I don’t want to lug them with me. So this G lens seems like a no brainer to me. Covers the range of my primes and still fast-ish at 2.8 constant. Just haven’t really heard anyone talk about it.

Edit - also been considering just taking the x100VI and nothing else but feeling scared on that decision currently
Lee mentions getting one used and if your first stop is Tokyo, try MapCamera in Shinjuku. Their new prices are already the best and their used gear is pretty much like new.

Thanks Eddie!

As much as I would love to only take the x100VI, I would feel scared as well.. If it were me (and with what I have), I would probably consider taking the x100VI and Sony a7CR with a small wide prime (like voigtlander 12mm) and another smallish 85mm 1.8. With that said, I think 24-50 2.8 should be just fine as well. :)

Thanks Lee, Daniel, Joon. Also thanks for the map camera tip!

I’ll continue going round in circles in the mean time. I was even looking at the 24-70 II today 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️

Just remember to take your passport if you go to any camera store like Map/Yodobashi as they do 10% off for foreigners (no tax). Yodobashi usually have every single lens and camera on display to try as well!

Wow Lee that’s brilliant, I’m a big fan of photos like that (same place different times)

The step daughter booked a week there back in the summer. We've not been back since 2015 as it's not a favourite place of ours. But, it was a good holiday and we managed to get this photo.

Just found a YouTube video of inside Yodabashi. That place looks insane. ALL the stock!! :ROFLMAO:

It is! I’m not the type to walk around a mall and look at everything but I couldn't help myself there 🤣 the larger ones like in Osaka or Akihabara in Tokyo will have every camera and lens to try so you can event put a lens on a body to try it too.

Hi all, sorry for lack of pics! I've been taking a lot but mostly family pics. Here is one from our summer holiday to Halkidiki in Greece. Still got plenty of other pics to process from various trips! :)

I'm not even looking at how many I've already, currently got on the SD card....... Probably enough to keep me going until Christmas :ROFLMAO: I'll be importing for a while when we get home.....
