Sony Lounge Thread GM-CR MK IV-A

Thanks so much Carlo. I should state that for the most part it was predominately low-grade fevers…typically 99.5F/37.5C. They did come with really awful sickly bodyaches though. The fever would start late morning and last all day until midnight. So every single day it went up and went down to normal again.

Right now I’m 99% certain it was an autoimmune condition called Drug Induced Lupus. My positive ANA blood test pattern results suggested it as a likely possibility and it turned out I was on a drug known to trigger the condition. So four weeks ago I I began slowly tapering off the drug and - voilà - the fevers began subsiding and now for the last week they’ve completely gone!

I could have gotten some really really cool gear with all the thousands spent on the numerous scans, blood tests, and visits to specialists trying to figure this thing out.
All in all David, that sounds positive, really pleased you are on the up.

Very convincing images regarding the Nokton and, more importantly, the 28mm focal length. The framing has a wonderfully cinematic feel.

Pretending it's related to Sony, does anyone here use a Raedon 9700 XT?

I want to upgrade my GPU but I've read AMD doesn't play as nice with Adobe products as Nvidia does.

The rendering of the Nokton contributes to the cinematic look too. Not much change in my post processing but the output has a highly cinematic look that I wouldn't say is flat like my dads FD 50 that i mess with but is the antithesis of microcontrast. Not that there is a lack of contrast, but it's very "inky" and the colors have a richness to them vs the vibrance of modern glass

That first one is perfect Carlo. :giggle:

From a one night stop with friends in Burton on Trent. We did an 8 mile walk next to lakes, through fields, and alongside canals. All with the 35mm. Oh, and we started in the pub with a pint of cider, then stopped in a pub half way round for a pint of lager, and then more refreshments back in the hotel! Sun was out and 20 degrees. Just perfect. Lets just say we have a mixed bag of weather in Britain, so we all get a bit giddy when the sun comes out and its nice and warm in April!

^What a lovely day that was Jon!

Here’s another image from yesterday’s quick outing to the lake. I wish I could have these bueatiful clouds single everyday. We’ve been in a severe drought and the humidity levels are lower than the usual for the southeast, so there’s a crispness in the air we don’t often get. It’s raining all day today, so yay for that!

Tonight I was looking at some photos taken with the Sony FE 35mm 2.8 lens (that lens was one of three that debuted with the original a7 and a7R cameras!!). It's a great little tiny little lens sharp all across the frame right from the jump at F2.8. And it's got great contrast too.

Anyway, I was bemoaning the fact that I sold my copy many years ago, which I've always regretted. But, I do have a little firecracker of a 35mm lens and that's the Samyang 35mm 1.8. It's good/not great at 1.8, but it might be pretty great from 2.5 on. I'll be using it a lot more to evaluate it as my go-to tiny lens.

Also, I'm trying out DXO Filmpack. So, here's a fun little mess about using the Samyang 35mm 1.8 and Filmpack (along with Nik Analog)...it's just a little snap out on my back porch tonight. Pardon the sh....y fake plants...my cats like to dig out the real ones. ;)

Nothing better than those photogenic days. You documented it well for sure.

Put TTartisans 40 to use for these type shots where it's hard to keep up with movement in MF. Lacks the richness in color and contrast of the voigtlander but still looks good.

Carlo, it’s interesting reading your comparison with the Voigtlander 28…I’d like to hear your thoughts on the TTartisans 40 vs the Viltrox 50 Air that you returned from a rendering standpoint (I know you don’t love 50mm focal length). I’ve been quite impressed with the reviews and photos I’ve seen from the Viltrox Air…what did you think of it?

BTW, your Nokton shots are killing me…I really really want one now! Geez, the contrast and richness is amazing.
