You're both right. Nothing unusual about vehicles parking on the pavement (sidewalk) here in the UK, though, unfortunately.

I noticed that on my visits to the UK. I suppose it saves space on the (already narrow) streets but must be an inconvenience to pedestrians.

Yes, it really is, especially for older and disabled people. Some places have made parking on pavements illegal, but it can cause even more problems, I.e. making our roads and streets even narrower. Too many vehicles and not enough space. That tractor is huge, by the way. I envy you for all the space I’ve seen when I’ve been in the U.S. and Canada. Interesting how my photo has sparked this debate. Thanks.

Ford FW30 with a V8 Cummings 903, made by Steiger Tractors in the USA for Ford, these are quite rare in the UK and most are now show stractors, but this one still earns a living...

A year 2000 New Holland 9684,weighing in at just under 20 tons built in Canada by Versatile for New Holland, this is reputed to be the ONLY one of these in the UK. I met it and its owner today, a very impressive beast at 360 BHP.

A lot of Farmers don't like to scrap old machinery, there's always a part or something someone will want to buy off you one day!
