Samyang is about the announce an RF-S AF 12mm f/2.0 with Autofocus

Samyang was one of if not the first brand to release autofocus lenses for the RF mount under the Rokinon name. However that was short lived, as Canon's lawyers stepped in with the ban hammer.

It now appears Samyang will become the third manufacturer licensed to produce RF-S lenses with autofocus.

Note: Unlike EF and EF-S, RF and RF-S lenses have the same mount. You can use RF-S lenses on an RF camera, but the image will be cropped like an APS-C camera.

Interesting addition. It looks like the RF mount is beginning to open up some. Good to see.

Back in early December, Samyang officially announced the Samyang 12mm f/2 AF Ultra Wide Angle Lens for the RF mount, the third company licensed to produce autofocus lenses for the RF mount joining SIGMA and Tamron, albiet for APS-C sensors.

The Samyang RF 12mm f/2 AF is now available for preorder for $449 USD. Exact shipping date is not available at this time.
