I would be interested in any photography-centric info on the S23 models. How do the cameras perform? What focal lengths do they correspond to? Low-light performance? Is the basic model all I need, or should I get the Ultra?
I guess if you want the best camera for the S23 series, you should pick the ultra, but the main camera should be the same between the 3 models. The only downsize I have with that phone is the size compared to the S23 and S23+.
Thanks for the comment. There are opinions out there that the Ultra is physically too big. It might be awkward to take along all the time.
The basic model looks great, though. But I'm wondering about the need for the 3x camera. Considering the lower px count (10 mp), maybe one could just crop the files from the standard camera.
the ultra is not the kind of phone I should have because how big it is!. In fact I'm still using a S10 which is similar in size to the S23. As the S24 is coming in January I probably wait to see if there's (if any) improvements in the cameras over the s23 and decide my replacement. About the 3X zoom of course as the main camera of the Ultra model have more MPs, more possibilities to get more details from crop of that image that maybe the 3x optical zoom camera but still the base S23 and S23+ have 50 Mps, should work well for cropping too!.
I did a little swapping on my FF Nikon. The telephoto on my S22 equates to about my 58mm. The main s22 lens matches up with a 24mm on the Nikon. I don't have any lenses wider to compare the Galaxy's wide lens.
