This shot isn't the best - but I don't care as it was one of my favorite projects I ever worked on. This car was built in the 80s by a rather famous builder who had a penchant for interesting engines (He built a '34 coupe once with a Ferrari V12....) This had a sprint car style front suspension, and a prototype v6 that GM intended to use for motorsports that was topped by a B&M roots blower, running a B&M ECU for the very old style injection. Had custom one-off center locking wheels, a cut down VW windscreen, and heated seats.

The builder passed away, his son always wanted to own a car built by his father, and this one became known to the shop as being for sale - albeit in poor shape. The owner of the shop I worked at brokered the deal and the son got his wish to own a car his dad built. I ended up having to do quite a bit of work to the car as it had been in a accident (the previous owner had a mishap and drove it into a wall in his garage) and hadn't ran in years. Once I had repaired / refreshed everything - this car was awesome to drive. The proverbial "on rails" or "go-cart" over used hyperbole - yet was true. The 400hp blown V6 also sounded awesome. I ended up tracking down the magazine articles covering this car when it was debuted - and I have them hanging on the wall, framed with this pic, which shows my corner of the shop I preferred working out of, the car, and my tool cart with the ongoing list of things I was doing to it.
