Sometimes photographers obsess over new equipment. Sometimes we stay up to edit RAW files waaay into the night, trying get the image 'just right'! (I'm certainly guilty of both the Gear-Acquisition-Syndrome and editing until sleep demands calling it quits.)
My funds do require some moderation, and need vs want bends towards compromise.
Two years ago, I decided the Canon 5D Mark IV missed some qualities that could be satisfied somewhat economically through a used equipment purchase. A Canon R5-C became available at a considerable savings.
Finally, a mirrorless body with sufficient stills improvement in both resolution and dynamic range, with a fan to prevent overheating - plus - a genuine Cinema Video camera, with a Cinema operating system, full 8k-p60 internal and long-form video acquisition, limited only by storage and batteries.
It had also recently received Netflix Originals certification for both "A" camera and "B" camera video acquisition. Plus the Netflix video standards and practices were published and, if you follow the Netflix protocols you will achieve excellent results!
Unfortunately, serious health issues cropped up and the video projects I hoped to pursue had to be side-lined.
Fortunately, still-image photography is now possible again, and my second-youngest grandson is in his first year of junior-tackle football. All of the following were shot with the Canon R5-C, EF to RF lens adapter and used Tamron EF-mount, 100-400mm, f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD lens, hand-held. Each image is also heavily cropped because the plays he was in were all across the field and even 400mm wasn't enough.
