Reflected reflections, as it were... 👁️👁️ 👀

I did these a number of years ago, on a dare, basically. A flickr friend did these and when I asked how on earth she managed to get the same pattern on both the spoons as well as in their reflection, she challenged me to find out myself. So I did but it was wickedly difficult.

I bought a glass plate, put a piece of colourful cloth underneath it, positioned the spoons on the plate and lit it a certain way with two or three speedlights. It took me a full evening and a lot of experimenting to finally get it right.

Later it turned out that my friend had just used an iPad...

Thanks, Trevor. And thanks heaven tastes differ (or it would be a really dull world).

I'll post a few more later. I have yet to try it using an iPad.
