A couple of RAAF EA-18G Growler’s, an electronic attack aircraft. It is capable of disrupting, deceiving or denying a broad range of military electronic systems, including radars and communications.

Taken on Friday 30th Aug 2024, at the rehearsal for Brisbane Riverfire 2024.

The conditions were hot and hazy so CRAW Dehaze has been used to “see” through the haze.

I had no idea such aircrafts existed. They look pretty spectacular to me.
Since my last attempt a couple of years ago, a number of bridges have been built along the stretch of the Brisbane River where these jets used to fly along so they now cannot fly as low and my previous vantage point has been blocked by one of these bridges. However, it is good to have these extra bridges to provide better access across the river.

I think that only Australia has these aircraft types outside of the USA?

Cheers

I know that light, Dennis. Good clean up!
We are experiencing some crazy hot, unseasonal weather right at the end of our down under winter.

In parts of Queensland, temperatures have been +15 deg C higher than the daily average, with some inland regions exceeding historical daily records.

Not a good omen.

No, not a good omen at all. It's rather scary, particularly the speed at which all of this is happening now.
