I just registered today. I was not able to get the confirmation email on my Hotmail address. When I changed my email to Gmail, I received the new confirmation and all previous confirmations that I attempted to send to my Hotmail account. Anyone else experience something similar?

There are several members that signed up using hotmail and have no issues. Could be in hiccup in either the server we are on or hotmail. You should be able to change your email in your account details if you prefer to use your hotmail address.

I tried that post-confirm on Gmail, but when you change your email address, you need to re-confirm it. I encountered the same issue and had to revert to Gmail again.

Very strange, you said the confirmations came through later for hotmail after the gmail got confirmed? or never got anything for hotmail? Did you try checking the spam folder?

When I changed my email address in my account details to Gmail from Hotmail, all of my previous confirmation emails to Hotmail arrived in my Gmail.

It should not be able to do that. Do you think you have mail forwarding set up on your hotmail?

After a short break this afternoon I came back and used the 'refresh page' option in FireFox and this notification appears:

FOP Update Notifaction.png

So I go to my 'Account Details' page and get this:

FOP My Account Details.png
I tried to reconfirm my login with the original e-mail sent from FoP, no dice, FoP could not confirm my Hotmail account.

I tried the 'Resend Confirmation E-mail' option, did not receive anything in Hotmail.

I went ahead and changed my e-mail over to my Gmail account and received confirmation, so here I am creating this post, which I couldn't do logged in with my Hotmail account.

FoP showed I was logged in with my Hotmail account, but with only limited access (couldn't really do anything but read stuff and change email).

Maybe I missed something where I could report this odd behavior, IDK, but I would really rather be using my Hotmail account instead of Gmail.

Thank you very much in advance and have a great day or night and a Happy New Year to all! :HB:

MORE THAN LIKELY THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED DUE TO THE FACT THAT CHET IS NOW AN FOP MEMBER AND HE WREAKS, ERR A, i MEAN WREAKS HAVOC WITH THE SPACE TIME CONTINUUM !

Sorry for the inconvenience. Apparently it has nothing to do with us or the server we are using. It is due to Microsoft blocking the server because they believe it is spam. Our server provider had sent a request to lift the block but also suggested to avoid using hotmail or any other Microsoft email because this issue was not the first.

I have frequently had emails sent to hotmail accounts not delivered, usually silently. Their spam filtering is extremely aggressive and stupid.

I can understand MS blocking servers that are suddenly sending out lots of emails. What I don't understand is being partially shut out of FoP during a logged-in session.
There must be something behind the scenes, so to speak, that checks the validation of a user log-in periodically?

Who knows. It's not really a big deal to me, I can cope with using Gmail for FoP.

Hopefully the issue isn't stopping potential new members from signing up here at FoP.

Thanks for looking into the issue, I hope it works itself out!
