We live in a smallish town in Southern Oregon, where small towns are the norm. My town, Ashland, has a population of about 22,000, just north are two smaller towns with populations of 6,100 and 4.200. The next town north is the big town in the county with a population of 86,000. We love living in a small town where just about everwhere you go you see someone you know and it takes a maximum of a 9 minute drive to get anywhere in town. We came from Los Angeles where 10 minutes of driving might not get you out of your neighborhood. That got old.
I like taking photos of our town and have gathered a large gallery of photos of it in the 7 years we have lived here.
Here is Ashland in the fall. At the upper left is Mount Ashland, a publicly owned ski mountain. The large building is a hotel, located near our theatre company, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
And here is a block of our downtown decorated for the holidays.
