Not sure if this is the best part of the forum for it (please move it to a better section mods if you think it needs)

One of my other hobbies is building model scale figures in tiny 28mm scale - mainly in the Napoleonic period - Waterloo to be exact, so lets see you other hobbies or pass times.

Here is a pic of my long term build showing the French attack of the Le Haye Sainte farmhouse at Waterloo.

OMG where do I start? While photography is and has been my main hobby I am big into ham radio (WX1USN extra class), Astronomy especially Solar imaging and using remote observatories, HO model train sets, genealogy, coin and stamp collecting, collecting Civil War relics.

That is some set up you have there - yep I have seen your Astro pics Amazing work, I used to have a few Airband handheld scanners but had to sell when things started to get tough - loved all convos over the comms.

...I am big into ham radio (WX1USN extra class)...
An uncle of mine was seriously into ham radio.
"Whiskey Nine Kilo Oscar Charlie" (W9KOC) was his callsign.
Crazy that I remember his callsign roughly 46 years later. ☺️

I remember sitting with him in his den with the early Kenwood digital radio,
him and myself talking from Michigan with people from Germany, Persia,
Norway, Russia(then U.S.S.R.), Japan, and even a scientific outpost in Antarctica.
I specifically remember those other people did not care where you were or
where they were, only that you were there to speak with them.

It was magical to a ten-year-old.

Very handsome, stylish design and build, love the inlay detail.
very nice - wood is an excellent media to work with
Wow- very talented! Very nice work!
And thank you all again. In making this and a companion piece (not shown), I found that you can build a useful household object if you stay with a simple style, something like Craftsman. You don't need fancy tools or special training. It's all rectangles, just straight cuts and arithmetic.

And you really do it better than many people
