Post Your Non-Insect Macro Photos

That is beautiful, Melissa! Is the bubble hollow? Wow, I don't think I have ever seen such a thing of such ephemeral beauty before. Well, not quite ephemeral, since it is frozen and present, but still... are the petal shapes on the surface of the bubble?

Thank you, Sam! Yes, the bubble is hollow and the petal shapes are on the surface. It is just a regular soap bubble with corn syrup added to make it thicker and stronger. This was my first time trying frozen bubble photography. It was a lot of fun! :)

Amazing. Very creative! Thanks for those details!

Agreeing with the above.. That is Super Beautiful and thank you for the details.
Did you freeze it in a freezer or outside, as I see you are in frigid Canada ;)
I have so many questions :ROFLMAO:

Thanks, Joayne!

I froze them outside. It was -19°C and the bubbles froze pretty quickly. :)

Wow.

I saw a video of this happening in real time, just a few seconds, think it was about -16C they said.
Yes, the bubble completely freezes in under 10 seconds. :) I took a couple of videos but I'm not happy with them. I may try again on the next cold day.
