It was suggested in another thread that a topic be made specifically for natural light and available light portraits. Natural light is my preferred way of lighting a portrait, so I hope it's ok that I start the thread myself.

Canon 5D MKIII, Canon EF 135mm f/2.8 Soft Focus lens (with the soft focus setting disabled), set to f/3.5, 1/160th sec, ISO 100.
