Post Your Equestrian Photographs

Wow those are fantastic photographs and talented individuals. My daughter has started riding so if I can make it to her lessons I like to bring my camera. As a hobbyist, I really enjoy the challenge of shooting these but miss a lot of shots!

I've been photographing show jumping for 2.5 years now. Someone at the club I cover suggested I attend a Hunters Trial. So contacted a club in Salisbury and spent the day (some in the rain) covering the water. Was a great day, made me smile every time someone went into the water and either shouted "I wasn't expecting it to be so deep!" or "OMG thats cold!" :D
Couple of shots from the pairs round

Whenever I photograph this stables competitions, I'm always impressed by this lady. She's 76 with acute arthritis and still manages to jump her horse on the 50cm round..

Look at the eyes on the horse in the first picture. The eye on the right looks like it is focusing to the side while the eye on the left could be focusing ahead or to the left.
If I remember right, the girl tried to jump a very low bar (about 1 ft high) and the horse got scared and slammed the anchors... I thought I had a more graphic photo, but the friend who invited me to take photos said that they don't approve of photos that show the animals/riders in a bad light. Unfortunately, I don't have it anymore...
