Hopefully this is in the correct (ish) forum, but it's a tricky one to place, I think.

Anyway,
I sometimes spot items of clothing dotted around the place, and I wonder how the owner didn't notice 🤷‍♂️

So, post your dropped items here.

I'll start with a glove or two...but not from the same pair 🤣

Cheers for now, and have fun with this one, but NO staged shots please.

I see this all the time, Simon. But only you have taken this and turned it into a photographic quest! OK, will have to keep my camera with me on my walks from now on!
What can I say...? 🤷‍♂️
It's just how I see the world tis all.
🤣

And indeed, please do join me on this quest, good Sir Knight 😉

Found one in my catalog, will look for more but there aren't that many I fear.

That's a lovely shot... 😄👍
...really suited to the B&W conversion.

And any dropped clothing is welcome.
Not just gloves. 🙌

Cheers for now,
Simon

Simon, there's already a thread for rubbish in Urban Life & Travel. All kinds of lost or abandoned or dumped items fit there. Are you sure that won't do as a landing spot for this specialty?

I don't think all lost/dropped clothing is be rubbish, for some items the owner will be very happy if/when it is found back.

That's certainly true, but possessions do become litter when they fall off or blow away. Distinctions, distinctions!

Ah yes, now this is interesting...

Here, dropped items, up to and including smartphones and wallets/purses will, 99.99% of the time be returned to their owners.

So to answer OhLook at the same time, it didn't even occur to me for a moment that dropped gloves (etc) would become rubbish.

An intriguing culture, in Japan, isn't it! 🤩

Cheers,
Simon

That's a good one 😁👍

And kindly perched on the sign, in case the owner returns.

I really like so much about this photo and the social implications 💛💛💛

Cheers for now,

At work we have a lost and found box from items found that are probably from customers, but also a lost gloves basket that is 100% from employees forgetting where they put them down. If only they'd look here more often. The pile is getting bigger by the day. One would think that this basket, next to the microwave ovens in the break room, would receive more notice, but nooooo.

That's a good snap, David.

When someone is in need of a glove or two, do they raid the basket?
Absolutely. What happens next is, of course, the gloves are re-lost and end up back here again. If I ever forget to bring in my 3 pairs of gloves to work (to do different things there), I can always borrow some for the day.

A dropped handkerchief.

Carefully placed upon a table, next to the Bullet Train platforms...
...and yes, that's a giant model of a bear's head behind it.

That's "Kuma-mon" the mascot of Kumamoto City.
🤷‍♂️

Cheers for now,
