As children, my siblings and I always called this "Dad's Bridge". It was designed by the Italian engineer Ricardo Morandi, but my late father did have some involvement in the design process. As a young engineer working for Wispeco, he designed the steel reinforcing. I remember our first visit. Dad decided to show us what a difference the bridge had made, by taking us across the bridge and then back via a very twisty-turny road to the bottom of the gorge, where we drove over a very small concrete bridge / culvert, before driving up the other side via an equally twisty-turny road.
