Red Tail Hawk with Leucism

About six weeks ago my son-in-law saw a bird fly into a tree on the corner of my front yard. As he went to see what it was it flew out and flew right past me about 5 meters away. I was able to ID it as a Red Tail Hawk due to it's brilliant red tail, but the rest of it's coloring was white with a small speckling of blacks and browns. We decided it was leucistic. It flew toward my backyard and I was unable to see it again.

This morning my wife called me to the backyard and to bring the camera. I knew it was the same bird as soon as I saw it.

Now THAT's one for the books!
VERY nice, and very cool that you were able to get that. I hope he comes back for you.

Thank you. I'm hoping he comes back/sticks around. It's great hunting here in the hood, tons of doves, starlings, pigeons, finches and magpies. I'm hoping to get some better shots, more artistic shots as I feel the first one here is just a "proof of concept" photo, face semi-hidden, shutter speed too slow and slightly over exposed. I like the second shot.
