What’s that in its beak?
If you look closely, there’s a thread-like object in the kingfisher’s mostly open bill. That’s not its tongue—it's attached to something peanut-shaped that the bird had swallowed. I initially wondered if it was a fishing line, but there’s a droplet at the end, which makes me think otherwise. Could it be a fish bone? Whatever it was, the kingfisher eventually vomited it out and tossed it away.
