I think I’m witnessing evolution in action. Asian Openbill Storks were once occasional migrants in Singapore, but since 2025 a small group appears to have chosen the island as a year‑round settlement. They’re now seen at many water bodies across Singapore — both freshwater and saline — where countless clams and snails provide food.

Asian Openbill Storks are mollusc specialists — they feed mainly on clams and snails.
