Post your Bird Portraits

Jacky Winter. tis a heavy crop, but couldn't get closer to the bird. Still working through my archives, another 2 lifers added to the list, so pretty happy. Makes 7 lifers in the past week.

Great job on the Jackie Winter, it is proving to be one of my nemesis birds! Any decent shot of a lifer is a good result; takes the pressure off getting the good shot later.

Thanks! The Eastern Yellow Robin was my nemesis bird for a long time. I now have quite a fair few good shots of One, courtesy of Maila/D'Aguilar National Park. I'm pretty sure the same EYR followed me around on my last trip up there 3 weeks ago. For the non-Aussies, the Jacky Winter is a member of our Robin family. My nemesis now is the Rose Robin. Spotted it on my first attempt at a particular location, got a crappy photo and have never seen it since despite well over a dozen returns to the same location. Frustrating!

Talkiing of lifers, I finally got to see some Little Lorikeets last month - again not the greatest of shots but I will take them!View attachment 196676View attachment 196681

Congrats on the Little Lorikeets. I've seen them once (initially thought they were Swift Parrots), got a terrible photo _ very high up in the tree, poor angle, poor head tilt and harsh sunlight). Yet to see them again. Still haven't seen a Musk Lorikeet, that's another nemesis bird.
