Raleigh 531c Luxe - built up in "Eroica" Spec - apart from the clipless pedals - added the Period Correct Campag. Strada's with the Obligatory Christophe Clips and Binda Straps for the event. It normally has A Flite Titanium saddle in place, but for the partially Gravel Eroica UK I decided that the Rolls "belgian sofa" was a prudent move.

Nice rig! And Campy D.T. friction shifters instead of bar cons. The D.T.'s always worked the best and were so easy to service, because you didn't have to. I still have my Campy Super Record custom steel road bike from the mid-80's, and also later traded out the S.R. Campy pedals to Shimano clip-less. I don't ride it anymore though at my age.

Actually, they're Shimano 600 6/7 speed indexed ones (they did something like 1-2 years of the gunmetal grey 600's before re-branding as Ultegra iirc. Basically, all the drivetrain is 600 apart from the chainset, which is Campag Victory. It's even got the 600 Aero seatpin and the 600 headset - though I think that actually was an old stock 600 in the "arabesque" pattern rather than the "tricolore" 600.

Dolan in "product shot" trim - was pretty much the day I completed the build on this one - coming up on 11 years ago now... Still hands down the best bike I've ever had - even with only 10s gearing - it's way more bike than I "need" or can justify these days for on the road. I'm fat, unfit and had a hiatus of maybe 20 years of not riding from my late 20's to just before I turned 50 - and 3 years after getting back on the bike, shedding around 80kg of blubber, I went out on the local club's "sporting" TT course, and turned in a time only 24 seconds slower than my PB set half a decade earlier, on a "full on" TT bike "of the era", complete with the Tadpole helmet and a rear disc wheel. Annoyingly, I've no photo's of that bike :(
