Post Your Best Barn Photos

Must be a quilter, or maybe communicating something to aliens?
They are, in fact, called "barn quilts", but it doesn't mean the owner is a quilter. Most barns within that area have "barn quilts" and there are tours available to see the best of them. Aliens aren't involved.:alien:

Perhaps we need a Quilt Thread where sometimes a quilt would depict a barn?

I remember those being called "hex signs" in Southeast Pennsylvania.

That's right. The Pennsylvania Dutch use that terminology, and I think their signs have a significant meaning to them. The folks in Wisconsin just make signs that look like quilt patterns, no special meaning.

It’s still there? Looked like it was about fall over years ago.

We were debating (as a group of 12) whether or not to drive out to that grain storage whatever-it-was at midnight and do our Milky Way shots with that in the near foreground. We didn't because it was too far from where we were staying and we also had a 4am shoot the next morning. Also, because it is private land, we didn't want to trespass...

... so instead, we ventured back out at midnight anyway, a little closer to our hotel, like 20 miles, and set up on a railroad track which we were assured was inactive, and shot the MW and this little barn (keeping it thread-worthy) as an anchor. Got back at 2am, then went back out at 4am to the next barn and field shoot. Sleep was optional impossible.

^ My first thought was Wisconsin until I read Maryland. That's real farm country there.
