The top moon was cropped and processed from the lower original file. It as shot at 700mm.Cool shot on that first one, I see it was shot with a 100-500, what was the actual focal length on the top one?
i have always wanted a shot like this... is this a composite or a single shot? I would assume that the brightness of the moon would make it impossible to get detail of the mountain without two shots?Mountain moon rise.

Thanks. It’s a single shot. I got lucky as the sun was setting in the west and the moon rising in the east. The setting sun cast a little bit of light on the mountain.i have always wanted a shot like this... is this a composite or a single shot? Now that's some impressive post-processing!One evening just before sunset I was out testing my R in low light and I noticed the moon. I posted the original file. This was through the sky filled with smoke from the forest fires in Canada this summer. Messed around with it a bit.
R7, 100-500 and 1.4 - hand held.
