Yesterday we waited for the lunar eclipse. The whole day was beautifully clear, but just before sunset, clouds began to appear from the southeast and the moon appeared between the clouds only for a moment. So at least I have a few shots of Pilsen in the evening.

Castoria, the town I was born. Went back for a few days this summer.

I had an unsettled score there.We went in the summer of 2022 for two nights. Upon arrival, one of my childhood friends hosted a dinner at his place, where he gathered other childhood friends (I'd left Castoria at the age of 12 in search of better education). I was planning to take some night photos of the old town with my venerable 5DIII. Unfortunately, the next day (the one before we were to leave) it rained (rather unusual for that time of the year). So I vowed to return next year (2023).

In 2023, a month before our departure, I contracted Covid with complications and spent 2 days in Cardiac ICU and two days in a regular hospital room. It took me three months to recuperate and we had to cancel the trip. In 2024 we went to the far southern end of Greece, so didn't get there. So, in the beginning of 2025 we booked a lengthy tour that included 4 nights in Castoria. Unfortunately, I got a serious problem (age?) with my left knee and I could do only about a hundred steps using a cane. Not the best for the old city, full of cobblestone street and street repair projects. Here are some of the photos:
