Here are three drone images taken in Jan 2024, Jan 2025 and Aug 2025 of 'The Pond' in Rockingham Western Australia showing the difference that letting nature to do it's own thing and how it will always win.
The Pond is a famous kite surfing spot and very popular each year over the summer months with both local, interstate and international kite surfers coming along to kite surf.
The is also a boat ramp at the eastern end which was used by local boaties.
Each year our local council spent between $80 000 - $100 000 dredging the site to keep the boat ramp operating but they decided this year not to do it and spend the money elsewhere.
The Jan 2024 image shows The Pond as it was when it was dredge each year.
It is interesting how much and in how little time nature takes back what it wants.
